What to Know about Injectables

Injectables can be a powerful way to improve your appearance giving a natural more fuller and youthful appearance. They’ve become a very popular temporary alternative to surgery due to the ease and effectiveness of these treatments.

In this blog, double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Thomas Romo III shares what you need to know about injectables.

How do they work?

Injectable fillers come in several different formulations, depending on the type. They’re designed to rejuvenate your face by filling wrinkles or plumping up areas that have lost volume with age.

Most treatments take only about 30 minutes (or less!) and you can usually return to your normal activities immediately. For most, you’ll see immediate results, which will continue to improve over the next week or two as the injectables settle into place.

What type of injectables are available, and what do they do?

Each filler, even those designed to treat the same issues, can have different chemical compositions. Your doctor can recommend one over the other depending on your specific needs.

How should you make your decision?

The most important part of deciding whether you are a filler and or Botox candidate is to try an injectable is choosing the best doctor to administer the fillers. You’ll want a board-certified plastic surgeon that has extensive experience in injectables.
