Romo Plastic Surgery Offers Dermal Fillers for Aging Skin
- Posted on: Jun 15 2019
At Romo Plastic Surgery, many patients come into our office looking for anti-aging solutions. The facial skin is often the first to show signs of aging. Fine lines and wrinkles will develop as skin laxity increases, and patients are concerned about their appearance. While plastic surgery options such as face lifts are available at our practice, they are not the right option for every patient. In fact, many of our patients with mild to moderate fine lines and wrinkles may be excited to learn about dermal fillers, a non-invasive method of treating aging skin without surgical intervention.
What is a dermal filler?
Dermatologists have been using dermal fillers for years, and now, patients can have their injections done right in our practice with Dr. Thomas Romo III. At Romo Plastic Surgery, we evaluate the patient’s skin and determine if they can benefit from a treatment such as dermal fillers. These injectables are typically formulated with molecules known as hyaluronic acid which are already naturally occurring in the body and skin. Hyaluronic acid attracts water molecules, and therefore adds volume wherever it is injected. These injections are done right in the wrinkles of concern to practically eliminate them. The results are immediate, and patients can enjoy them for many months before reinjection is needed. The dermal fillers used in our practice are Juvederm and Restylane.
Who is a candidate?
Any patient who has mild to moderate skin laxity and the development of fine lines and wrinkles may be considered an appropriate candidate. Treatments are only for adult men and women, and patients should undergo an initial consultation appointment before moving forward with this or any other treatment at Romo Plastic Surgery. We want to make sure we match our patients to the best possible treatment for their specific needs.
