10th International Symposium of Facial Plastic Surgery Hollywood, Florida April 28–May 2, 2010

Dr. Thomas Romo, III, is one of the most respected facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons in the world. His innovative techniques produce a superior result with an emphasis on an incredibly natural look. His years of experience, highest level of skills and his innovative approaches make Dr. Romo the preferred surgeon to countless high profile celebrities. Dr. Romo and his staff pride themselves on providing a rapid recovery time following surgery.

This emphasis on rapid recovery following plastic surgery has made Dr. Romo a very popular guest on many major national and local television talk and news programs. He and his qualified staff provide attentive post-operative care. All of his patients are closely monitored by Dr. Romo and an experienced group of plastic surgery nurses post surgery. This type of nurturing care not only allows the patient to feel comfortable and safe in the post-operative setting but also provides a safeguard against unwanted post surgery complications.

Dr. Romo is currently the Director of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at both Lenox Hill Hospital and The Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York City as well as the Director Emeritus of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is the past President of the New York Facial Plastic Surgery Society and has served as the Eastern Regional Director of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from 1999 to 2004. He has been cited as “Best Doctor in New York” for almost a decade in the Castle-Connolly peer review survey. In addition, he is author and editor of the textbook "Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery: A Multidisciplinary Approach” (Thieme Publishing, 2000).

In addition to holding several innovative medical patents and having been published in numerous medical journals, Dr. Romo has received a myriad of honors and awards, including the Distinguished Education Award by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Romo is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and maintains a diverse private practice that includes women and men in finance, communications, and entertainment—as well as many on the social register.

For the past eighteen years, Dr. Romo has also dedicated his considerable talents to advancing Microtia surgery—a corrective procedure that constructs ears for children born without them. He heads the world-renowned Microtia team at Lenox Hill Hospital and The Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, working with both adults and children who come to Dr. Romo from all over the world. He is President and Founder of the Little Baby Face Foundation and has donated countless hours to transform the faces and lives of children.
